Nintendo Q3 FY23 Earnings Report

The biggest highlight in my mind is that the Nintendo Switch is now the second best selling Nintendo console of all time only behind the DS family, which sold 154.02 million. The Nintendo Swtich as of December 31, 2022 has sold 122.55 million units. Even more importantly is that the Swtich is about to sell a billion units of software, which it probably has by this point as this data is a couple months older. The DS, despite having more hardware sales, finished with 948 million.

Net Sales were down 1.9%

Net Profit was down 5.8%

Pros

First Party Sales were up 1.7%

Digital Sales up 5.8%

Swtich OLED sales up 92.5%

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet sold 20.61 million.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has now sold over 52 million copies.

Swtich Sports sold 8.61 and Splatoon sold 10.13

Forecast

Sales Projection reduced 3%

Hardware Projection reduced 1 million units from 19 to 18.

Software Projection reduced 5 million from 210 million to 205 million.
