ICYMI Metal Slug Tactics Still Coming in 2024

In case you missed it back at the very end of 2023, after around 16 months of silence from both the developer and publisher about the game, they have both stated that Metal Slug Tactics is indeed still coming, and will release in 2024.

There were some theories as to why Metal Slug Tactics was delayed including to get out of the way of the mobile release, Metal Slug Awakening, or because the development studio Leiker was finishing their other game Synergy, which could have been part of the contract, or its possible that even though what we saw in trailers looked fun and complete, it was just missing something and needed to be retooled.

Initially revealed at Summer Games Fest 2021, then in August 2022, it was officially delayed by Dotemu “saying see you in 2023”. As almost all of 2023 went by without any word, many began to wonder if the game was abandoned.

On December 15th 2023, Dotemu finally broke the silence “2024 will be filled with even more amazing games, such as Metal Slug Tactics” Leikir Studios, the team behind the development also echoed this sentiment on their socials a few weeks later.

Technically, the game has never been given an official release date, and therefore hasn’t officially been delayed, but for whatever reason needed more time, its great to hear that it hasn’t been cancelled and I can’t wait to finally play it in 2024.
