Is Age of Empires 4 coming to Xbox?

The real time strategy genre isn’t quite what it used to be during the height of its craze beginning in the mid to late 90’s with games like StarCraft, Warcraft, Total Annihilation, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Rise of Nations and Command and Conquer. New amazing experiences were released frequently.

Nowadays, new high quality RTS games are few and far between. On October 28, 2021 Relic and Microsoft released Age of Empires 4. As a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber who games strictly on consoles, not being able to play one of the latest Xbox Game Studios was unfortunate. Mapping the controls for RTS isn’t easy buts it’s doable as we have seen Halo Wars but even the ability to simply plug and Keyboard and mouse into Xbox Series X also doesn’t exist.

However, it doesn’t seem time to give up hope just yet.  Back in January, Age of Empires 4 was spotted for internal testing on Xbox. Whether this is a controller remapping or the ability to use KBM is still unsure.

Another reason for hope is Microsoft Flight Simulator.  It was initially released strictly on PC on August 18, 2020. Almost a year later on July 27, 2021, the Xbox Game Studios title came to Xbox and Game Pass. It feels like a very similar situation that Microsoft will take a core PC title and port it to Xbox. The perfect time would during the summer Xbox presentation that usually takes place around
