Is Switch Sports Good? (Five Reasons It Could Be)

Is Switch Sports Good? (Five Reasons It Could Be)

When we posted a video after the announcement of Nintendo Switch Sports being the sequel to Wii Sports, I was surprised by the amount of people that had issues with the game. Now that we know more about the game, here are five reasons Switch Sports has potential

  1. One of the most recurring comments was that the game felt lifeless due to the lack of Mii’s. The good news is that Mii’s are officially a part of Switch Sports and if you don’t want to use those, there will be something else called a sports mate.

  2. Based off Nintendo’s history of pricing games incorrectly, like the Swtich launch title 1-2 Switch being full price and not a pack in, it was safe to assume the Switch Sports was also going to be full price. however with pre orders being live we can see that they have priced the game very competitively at 49.99 us or 65 Canadian.

  3. Nintendo is not known for their online superiority but they are slowly getting better. Online will feature a ranking systems for each sport.  When you rack up enough wins you will go pro and then start climbing the rankings which feature 12 levels from e to a rank

  4. With the improved technology in the joy cons, it appears the game will have a higher skill ceiling.  In badminton for example by holding ZR while swinging will create drop shot and It’s likely that all sports will feature improved mechanics like this.

  5. The other biggest complaint is that there is no baseball and while that didn’t change there is hope that there will be updates. Already announced the golf update in the fall and seeing Nintendo support games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe over 5 years later, there is plenty of hope that more sports will come. Considering Wii Sports Resort had 12, it’s not impossible and would be a good way to keep sales evergreen

All of these changes took Switch Sports from a wait and see to likely a day one for me. What do you think?
