Replaced Release Date

Our number three most anticipated game of this year, the Xbox exclusive Replaced has just been delayed into 2023.

Replaced is a 2.5D cinematic retro-futuristic action-thriller set in a dystopian alternative version of the USA in the 80’s. You play as an AI that is trapped in a human body and you need to explore and push your mortal body to the limits. The team behind Replaced is Sad Cat Studios, a small indie team from Belarus that was founded in 2017 with their debut title set to hit Xbox in 2022 as an exclusive.

Obviously due to the geographical location of the studio during this global crisis with Ukraine and Russia, the team has made the right decision to prioritize the important things.

“We are a Belarusian studio and we want to make it perfectly clear: We are against war. Today, we are making the very difficult decision to delay Replaced until 2023. The priority for Sad Cat was for the safety of the team and their families. As a result part of the team has now relocated and work has only recently restarted. We are prioritizing both the physical and mental health of the developers by not forcing the original deadlines that have been unexpectedly impacted. It won’t be long before you can enter the void”

It’s a very unfortunate circumstance that the team has found themselves in but they are making all the right decisions by putting their well being first and delaying Replaced into 2023. Replacedwill still be very close to the top of my most anticipated games of 2023.
