TMNT: Shredders Revenge News

With TMNT: Shredders Revenge release feeling fairly imminent, likely over the next few months, publisher and co developer DotEmu have started releasing behind the scenes documentary style updates on a pretty frequent pace.

If you comb through these videos, you can actually learn a lot about the game and its development. Here are five ways that Tribute Games are bringing TMNT: Shredders Revenge from its quarter eating arcade roots to modern day consoles.

Story mode

The TMNT Beat em-ups have been known for punishing the foot clan and moving on to the next stage, which is still one way to play in arcade mode, but Shredders Revenge will also introduce a new Story Mode that will feature an episodic layout with an overworld. You are then able to return to any of the specific episodes to complete episodic challenges and find collectibles.

Co op exclusive moves

If you are playing in co-op, which is both off-line and online, cross play is still TBD, you can take advantage of other turtles on screen and perform co-op exclusive moves like picking up another turtle and chucking them at the enemy for some spinning shell carnage.

High skill ceiling

Tribute didn’t elaborate on this too much but did say one of the ways the are bringing the game into the modern age is with a high skill ceiling for those that are looking for it.

Party pizzas

In previous TMNT games, personal pizzas would drop but they would only be for one player, in Shredders Revenge, there will now be party pizzas that give everyone a health boost. Although they did say that personal pizzas are still a thing. Small change but likely one of many that will add up to big differences.

Each character is unique

Previousl, even though you could pick different turtles they all were identical underneath visual difference. In Shredders Revenge each character will have different attribute including speed, reach, health etc. April, for example is much more acrobatic.

These are just five of the ways TMNT: Shredders Revenge looks to shell slide into the modern age.
