Dead Space Remake Release Date Update
Dead Space Remake Release Date
When initially teased back at EA Play 2021, many hoped that the game would get released late 2022. The bad news is that the new targeted release date is now early 2023, according to the official Dead Space twitter.
As we have talked about before, the way to revitalize Dead Space at EA is to follow the Resident Evil Blueprint and go back to the roots of the series along with quality remakes. Without a doubt RE7 and RE2 Remake reinvigorated the franchise with lifetime sales of over ten million for Biohazard and almost 9 million for RE2 Remake.
Capcom released both for these excellent games in January which proved to be beneficial in hindsight as this is a great time for survival horror because January is typically dry on new game releases.
The key to a good survival horror is audio and lighting. Think games like PT, Oulast and of course Dead Space. From the initial teaser trailer we have seen what they intend to do with the lighting and being next gen only they will be able to push this slightly farther.
Now, with the most recent dev diary we can see how the motive intends to incorporate audio to deliver next gen immersion. Motive will be using a new system called ALIVE that simply put delivers different audio based on different facets included health, exhaustion and fatigue. Depending on your situation you will get one of three different audio lines. This combined with other small details the studio looks to focus on should lead to a deeper immersion and overall a better experience.
What we have seen so far with the Dead Space Reboot seems very promising and if Motive continues to follow the Resident Evil blueprint, we will hopefully be playing Dead Space in January 2023.
