Nintendo Switch Pro Release Date

Is a Nintendo Switch Pro coming out? Many reports speculate that it is coming but there are just as many reports with conflicting information that states Nintendo is going to move on to the Switch successor next. My thoughts are based on how Nintendo has iterated on consoles in the past, they will have at least one more version of the Switch before moving on to the Switch U.

Even though we don’t know if a Switch Pro is in development or not, we can still figure out the release date based on the precedent Nintendo has with releasing consoles and their iterations. The Nintendo Switch was released on March 3, 2017.

On September 20, 2019, the Nintendo Switch Lite, which sounds much better than Nintendo doesn’t Switch was released and finally on October 8, 2021, the Nintendo Switch OLED was released, which featured minimal upgrades from the original Switch outside of the very nice organic light emitting diode screen that was purchased from Samsung inexpensively.

That is a difference of 931 days for the first iteration and 749 days for the second but for all intents and purposes, we are looking at every second calendar year. This means that if a Switch Pro does actually come to fruition, which based on the commentary of Digital Foundry about how the most recent footage from the Breath of The Wild Sequel appears to be running on something more powerful than the current Switch offerings, it may be very likely we are looking at 2023.

After figuring out the year there are two options that make the most sense being at the same time the BOTW sequel comes out which is currently slated for Spring 2023 and the other logical date is the Holiday 2023 window.
