What to Play before Super Mario Odyssey 2

What to play before Super Mario Odyssey 2

If you collected nearly all of the 999 power moons from Super Mario Odyssey and have been waiting patiently for the sequel since 2017, unfortunately you will have to wait a little longer since nothing was announced at the February Nintendo direct.

There is a silver lining though and that is the more they show from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the more it looks like the spiritual successor to Super Mario Odyssey.

Obviously, on the surface, you can see that it is a 3D platformer, it has a very playful Nintendo feel, gorgeous visuals that make the most of the Nintendo Switch but to really sell this on just how much Kirby is like Super Mario Odyssey is how Kirby uses the mouthful mode just like Mario used cappy to take control of enemies and objects in the environment to reach new areas.

In the most recent trailer for Kirby and The Forgotten Land, we see Kirby use mouthful mode to take control of a scissor lift which looks identical to uproot from odyssey which allowed you to extend well above your height. With the success of Super Mario Odyssey, and the lack of new Zelda and Mario games at the moment, Kirby at the forgotten land will likely be the best selling Kirby game of all time since it fills the 5 year gap left since Super Mario Odyssey.
