With almost 83 million copies sold of Wii Sports and 33 million of Wii Sports Resort, this series is one of the best selling of all time. It also means that if you owned a Wii then you Likely owned Wii sports.

The Wii was a console for everyone and it was a phenomenon but that was a long time ago and maybe you want to get back into causal gaming and want a system like the Wii. The Nintendo Switch has been the obvious choice as the console that is most like the Wii with its small size, casual games, classic Nintendo IP and motion controls.

The one tiny thing it was missing was Wii sports. In April, this finally changes because at the February Direct, Nintendo Switch Sports is coming and is a new iteration of the Wii Sports series featuring classics you love including tennis and bowling. Nintendo Switch Sports has a release date currently set for April 29, 2022.

You can now safely say there is nothing that the Wii did that the switch doesn’t do better. Ring Fit Adventure is better than Wii Fit, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is better than Mario Kart Wii, and likely Switch Sports will be better than Wii Sports.

Switch Sports will include 6 sports at launch including soccer, badminton, volleyball and golf will be coming free in the fall. Hopefully boxing, baseball and others come in the future with free updates, because Wii Sports Resort had 12.
